The challenge

Construction and interior fit-out is hard to market. The work is complex and visually rich, but once a project is complete the builder disappears behind the brand that moves in. What remains is photographs, documentation, and the stories the work can tell afterwards.

For Sunray, that record is business-critical. Every architect, developer and hotel operator wants proof of what has been built before. The quality of the portfolio directly shapes whether the next contract is won.

Once a project is complete, the contractor’s name often disappears behind the brand that moves in.

The strategy

Shown at the level of the brands it builds for

We approached the work like a brand portfolio, with the same care for the final image that the construction itself demanded.

Architectural photography

We photographed Sunray’s completed work across hospitality, retail and corporate spaces, including Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur, Hyatt Centric Kuala Lumpur, Sea Life and Legoland, a Mercedes showroom and Hilton Garden Inn Kuala Lumpur. Each space was captured to the standard of the brand it now houses.

Documentary films

For full build-ups and major revamps, we made documentary films that show what photos can’t: the scale of the work, the craft of the team, and the journey from raw site to finished space.

The outcome

A portfolio that works in every pitch

Sunray now has a complete visual record of its hospitality, retail and corporate work, ready for every pitch document, awards submission and conversation with an architect or developer.

The documentary films give Sunray a way to tell its own story, in an industry where contractors usually disappear behind the brands they build for.
