The challenge

Curate Group runs one of Kuala Lumpur’s most ambitious portfolios of Japanese fine dining: Edomae sushi counters, omakase tempura, Chef’s Table experiences, wagyu dining rooms and kappo cuisine, at addresses like the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Naza Tower, Platinum Park and Menara Hap Seng.

Each restaurant has to stand on its own and be remembered for itself. At the same time, every surface has to meet the same high standard, because a group is only as strong as the weakest thing a diner sees before they sit down.

In Japanese fine dining, the smallest details matter.

The strategy

One restaurant at a time

We approach the partnership the way Curate approaches its restaurants: one project at a time, each treated as bespoke. The work covers three layers, depending on what each restaurant needs.

Websites across the group

Each restaurant has its own brand world and its own site, from omakase counters to Chef’s Table experiences. Every site shows the restaurant’s personality, supports reservations, and presents food and space at the quality the chefs expect.

Brand identity

For selected restaurants we built the identity itself: logo, typography and visual system. Distinctive without being loud. Considered without being decorative.

Photography and brand films

For premium dining, content is part of the product. We capture the space, the food, the craft and the atmosphere for websites, social, reservation platforms and press.

The outcome

A partnership that keeps growing

The partnership has supported the launch and growth of one of Malaysia’s most distinctive fine dining groups. Each restaurant we have worked on now has a digital, identity or content presence that matches what the chefs deliver in person.

The work continues as Curate Group adds new restaurants to its portfolio.
